How Diaper Service Works

We supply you with the use of fresh, clean, natural, cotton diapers that we launder and maintain for you. We rent you the diapers on a weekly basis. Our current price list is shown below. Once a week, we come to your door (or whatever else you arrange with us) to pick up used diapers and leave fresh ones for your baby. You don't even have to be home to receive your delivery. We come on the same day of the week every week, at about the same time of day. On your first two deliveries, we leave you and your baby the number of diapers you originally ordered. Thereafter, the diapers you turn in soiled one week are returned clean and fluffy the next week. To be sure you get good quality diapers, our inspectors replace any diaper that is stained or worn out with another sanitarily processed diaper.

Pinless DiaperingPinless Diapering

Thanks to today's new generation of diaper covers, you don't need to pin your baby's diapers. You just fold a diaper and place it in the diaper cover, close the cover with its Velcro tabs or snaps, and the diaper stays firmly in place with no need for pins. You may want to keep a couple pins on-hand for the few times that you don't use a cover over your baby's diaper. But basically, our cotton diapering these days is a very simple, no-pins process. Visit our library for more information on starting service and the modern, no-pins diapering process.

Health Advantages

As a new or expectant parent, nothing is more important to you than your baby's health and comfort.

  • Our high-temperature processing - much hotter than you can get at home - and specialized laundry supplies and bacteriostat additive not only clean your baby's diapers, but enable them to fight bacteria-growth once soiled.

  • We take special care to pH-balance our cloth diapers to match baby's skin. We know how sensitive it can be (our diapers don't cause "perfume reaction" rashes common to disposable diapers).

  • We regularly submit random diapers to an independent laboratory for tests to guarantee we're meeting all our sanitary requirements.

  • Our cotton diapers will help you know when it's time for a change. Today's super-absorbent disposables may cause some parents to believe that it's okay to change their baby less often, because the diaper feels "dry." But a dirty diaper is a dirty diaper, no matter how it feels. To protect your new baby's sensitive skin from chafing, irritation and possible rashes, change your baby very soon after every wetting. Our diapers feature a gentle-to-baby bacteriostat which actually creates a barrier that inhibits bacteria growth once the diaper is soiled. So, while our diapers may not feel "dry" when dirty, our diapers do inhibit the bacteria that can cause discomfort.

Your baby's healthy skin is our top priority. As proof, a survey of diaper service families revealed that babies wearing exclusively cloth diapers from services like ours are five times less likely ever to get a rash than when other diaper types are used1 . In fact, many of our parents tell us their babies have never had a rash with Baby Diaper Service of North Carolina cloth diapers.
